Hawzah News Agency- In a strongly worded statement, the scholars condemned the Al Khalifah regime's decision to bar a number of Husseini pulpit orators and mourning procession eulogists from fulfilling their religious duties as the season of Ashura and the month of Muharram commences.
"This oppressive and highly provocative move, timed with the onset of the Ashura season and the sacred month of Muharram, constitutes a blatant assault on religious liberty, an explicit breach of the constitution, and a confiscation of the believers' right to practice their beliefs in accordance with the jurisprudential rulings established by their religious authority—a tradition Bahrain has upheld for hundreds of years," the statement read.
The scholars stressed that this systematic policy, pursued for years, exposes the falsehood of the regime's touted claims of "tolerance and respect for religions," noting that followers of non-Islamic faiths—and even disbelievers and polytheists—now enjoy a better status than the country's native Muslim citizens.
The Bahraini clerics condemned the unjust crackdown and demanded its immediate cessation, calling on the regime to retreat from its provocative approach and cease disturbing the tranquility of the Ashura season.
